We currently have a vacancy as our previous Rector is now the Bishop of Ramsbury in the Diocese of Salisbury. Andrew Rumsey was  ordained and consecrated to the episcopate on 25 January 2019.  Click here for more information.

St Mary’s is an Anglican parish church serving the town of Oxted in East Surrey. We are part of the Oxted Team Ministry, formed in 2014, which comprises the parishes of Oxted, Hurst Green, Tandridge and Crowhurst.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book, St Mary’s Church remains at the heart of life in Oxted and is a growing Christian community committed to serving this locality. The ancient church was built nearly one thousand years ago and, together with its historic graveyards, provides a unique home for the key moments and memories of our town.

Today we offer a diverse programme of services and events - and enjoy strong links with St Mary’s C of E Primary School and Oxted Community Hall. Like all Church of England parish churches, we have a duty of care for our neighbourhood, and will be glad to speak with you if you wish to arrange a christening, wedding or funeral - or to use our wonderful building as a unique venue for your community event.

Everyone should feel safe at St Mary's. If you have any concerns, our safeguarding officer is Katharine Nockles, who can be contacted by clicking here. Our safeguarding policies can be accessed here.
